Through the life of the Chapel, the Chaplain works to integrate the intellectual and the spiritual, and to this end organises speaker meetings, discussion forums and reading groups. His own academic area is Romantic and Victorian Literature and his research interests include poetry and poetics, elegy, literature and religion, hymnody, literary melancholy. More broadly, he is also interested in the relationship between literature and philosophy.
