  • The 2014 victory boat burning

On Saturday 10 February at 3.30pm Wadham rowers past and present will welcome two new boats with a naming ceremony.

Following the ceremony Wadham's women rowers will be marking their Summer Eights Headship with a traditional boat burning ceremony at approximately 5pm.

The boat being burned has been disused for some time as it is wooden and flexes too much to be used for competitive racing and would otherwise be left to rot. The environmental impact of this event is something that is taken very seriously, which is why this event is planned to be carbon offset.
