Enabling exceptional students to fulfil their potential

Enabling access to the rich variety of sporting, cultural, social and intellectual pursuits which Wadham, and Oxford, have to offer is an equally vital component to broadening experience at a deeply formative time.

Our target is to raise £5 million to provide support for our students and ensure that we attract the best scholars to Wadham.

Undergraduate Students

The cost of educating undergraduates far exceeds the current level of fees, and.  And although the Government may raise the cap there will continue to be a gap between fees and the true cost of the tutorial system.  Therefore, the need for bursaries is likely to rise over time as the cost of a University education increases. We aim to raise £4m in annual donations over the course of the campaign to provide vital support for our students and preserve the tutorial system.  You can help by making a contribution of any size towards Student Support. Funds are provided to ensure that students are not distracted from their studies by taking up part-time work during term time.  We also offer students Academic Awards and Extra-Curricular Activities Grants to help enhance their university experience. These include grants for sports, travel and cultural activities.

Graduate Students

In addition, Wadham wishes to establish a new fund for Graduate Scholarships in order to compete on an international scale to attract the most talented graduate scholars. Attracting graduates enables us to educate and nurture the next generation of academics, and to continue to support a diverse and vibrant graduate community in College.  We would like to build up an endowed fund of £1m.  Income from the fund would be used to provide graduate scholarships to scholars in a range of subjects.  Donors who make donations of £250,000 or more can name a scholarship.

If you would like to help support these ambitions, you can make a donation online, by downloading a Donation form, or alternatively you can make a regular donation by visiting the University's Wadham site.
