Mariola joined Wadham in 2011 and has worked her way up from her job as a Scout to a Supervisor position, then becoming Deputy Housekeeper.

The Employee of the Year announcement was made by the Warden of Wadham College, Ken Macdonald QC at the annual Warden’s Christmas lunch in December.

Following a vote involving students, fellows and staff, the housekeeping team scooped most of the awards.

Runners up for the award were: General Assistant, Carl Parfett; Head of Housekeeping, Helen Wynn; Scout, Victoria Braich; and Chaplain Wendy Wale.

During the celebration, a fond farewell was given to College Nurse Mary Ann Dale who is retiring after 17 years at Wadham.

Christmas celebrations continued with the drawing of the Wadham College Cristmas Raffle which raised £244.00 for Blind Children UK (formerly the National Blind Children’s Society), the leading charity for children and young people with sight loss.
