Neil joined Wadham as the Joint Second Chef in April 2006 and, in recognition of his skills he was promoted to the role of Head Chef two years later.

Since then Neil has built a reputation for providing excellent food for all occasions, with the support of his highly skilled team. Neil has been given this award as he works hard to maintain high standards and creates truly delicious meals, which one diner described as ‘art on a plate.’

Runners up for the award were Lodge Porter Alan Slater, Catering Service Assistant Neringa Bernotaite and Academic Administrator Mike Froggatt.

The awards were presented by Warden of Wadham College, Ken Macdonald QC, and Domestic Bursar Frances Lloyd and the Warden’s Christmas lunch for all staff members. Neil was selected from 38 nominations.

The Employee of the Year Award was set up by Wadham College in recognition of the contribution of non-academic staff throughout the year. Nominations are made by staff, students and Fellows.
