Over the past year a team of four Research Associates has made an important impact at Wadham by organising a variety of events, building academic links and providing research leadership to Wadham’s growing graduate community.

Returning Research Associates Anbara Khalidi and John Miles have an exciting programme of events lined up for the coming term including a ‘meet the research associates event’ on Tuesday 17 January, an Innovation Forum, Writing Workshop and  two Wadham in Objects events.

Wadham Research Associates have existing positions within the University. Anbara Khalidi is a post-doctoral researcher at the The Oxford Research Centre in Humanities (TORCH) and John Miles is Humanities Training Officer in the Humanities Division. They will continue to join Senior Common Room meal times once a week to help them carry out their work.

John Miles describes his experience as a Research Associate as 'fantastic.' "As well as being lucky enough to be part of some fascinating initiatives bringing the SCR and MCR together, I’ve gained an invaluable insight into College life and made some great friends," he said.

Retiring Research Associate Tyler Shendruck, now an Independent Research Fellow at the
The Rockefeller University commented: “I count myself extremely lucky to have been one of the four inaugural RAs. I gained much from the position including a college home, and close relationships with SCR members and other young academics.”

If you have a PhD or DPhil or are shortly to graduate PhD or DPhil and can demonstrate how you can contribute to the enrichment of academic life at Wadham, do send in an application to Wadham before noon on 3 February 2017. If you would like any further information about the work of the Research Associates please contact them at researchassociates@wadh.ox.ac.uk
