Sirimon Thomas (Biology, 2015) reports: “On Saturday the 28 October, the Old Boys of the Wadham rugby club returned from retirement and took to the pitch to challenge the current rugby team. The 2pm kick off saw the teams face up and commence battle, with a few current players mixed with the Old Boys for camaraderie and to make up numbers. Big hits and some stylish play on both sides ensured high quality rugby and it was only through great skill that the current team took the victory.
“A trip to the pub after the game allowed everyone time to catch up and relax before we returned to Wadham for dinner. A truly fantastic meal was served up by Wadham’s superb kitchen and was accompanied by the usual rugby dinner antics. All the organisation for this great event was done by Dr Aron D’Souza (Harris Manchester, Law, 2009) who has kindly supported this event for the last four years and to whom a huge vote of thanks is extended from all the current rugby team, and I’m sure from all who attended the event. We look forward to the rematch next year!”
