Gaudy gathering

More than fifty years since matriculation, some eighty alumni returned to Wadham to celebrate their Gaudy reunion.

Alumni, who matriculated between 1960 and 1964, travelled from all corners of the globe, with some returning from as far afield as Australia, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and the USA.

Highlights of the event included a College update; a well-attended Evensong service, led by Chaplain Wendy Wale and with organ music provided by Director of Chapel Music Katharine Pardee; and a group photograph on the steps of Hall before the evening’s formal drinks reception and celebratory dinner.  Dinner was warmly hosted by Sub-Warden Colin Mayer, with after-dinner speeches from Ted Marmor (Politics, 1961) and Emeritus Fellow Stephen Goss.

In an unusual break from tradition, we were delighted to welcome a small group of wives and partners to College, who were hosted by Emeritus Fellow Ray Ockenden in the Old SCR for their own special dinner.
