Contact John

John joined Oxford in 2013 as the Training Officer for the Humanities Division. Before this he taught Shakespeare and Renaissance Literature in the English Department at Royal Holloway, University of London, where he was Caroline Spurgeon Research Fellow. His role at Oxford involves developing and leading the programme of professional and personal development for DPhils and Early Career researchers across the Humanities and coordinating research training as part of Oxford’s AHRC Doctoral Training Partnership. He is also refining a monograph on paratexts in the Shakespeare First Folio for publication and working on a further project reconsidering the early ‘bad’ printed texts of Shakespeare. As a Research Associate at Wadham, John is looking forward to developing research seminars exploring Wadham’s heritage in objects, running workshops for graduates encouraging their development as researchers and professionals, and inspiring and nurturing student-led initiatives.
