Giulia also Professor of Physics at the Rudolf Peierls Centre for Theoretical Physics. Following a Laurea degree at the Università degli Studi di Milano (Italy) and a PhD at the Università degli Studi di Pavia (Italy), she has held posts at the Institute for Particle Physics Phenomenology in Durham (UK), at Fermilab in Batavia (Illinois, US) and at CERN in Geneva (Switzerland). In 2012 Giulia was awarded the Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel-Forschungspreis for her research into precision calculations of collider processes.
Giulia’s main field of interest is the phenomenology of elementary particles, in particular the LHC and collider phenomenology. She has been working on fixed order perturbative (NLO) QCD calculations for multi-particle processes, on all orders resummations of logarithmic enhanced contributions, on the physics of jets and event shapes, on unstable particles using an effective theory description, on heavy flavour production, on Higgs and electroweak physics.
