E-mail: head.porter@wadh.ox.ac.uk The Head Porter is assisted by the Deputy Head Porter. Your main use of the Lodge, apart from collecting and handing back room keys, will be for the collection of post (national and internal pigeon post). The Lodge acts as the main contact point for a number of other purposes: Maintenance Request Forms are obtained and returned to the Lodge. It is the place for reporting security issues (lost keys/faults in door closing devices, suspicious persons on site). The Lodge operates the bicycle registration scheme and booking arrangements for the badminton courts, squash courts and punts. Lodge staff are in charge of dealing with fire alarms and you should follow their instructions in the event of a fire alarm sounding. Although it is generally to the Lodge that you should refer noise and disturbances, medical emergencies, security, fire safety and maintenance matters, it is particularly important that the Lodge is alerted to these issues outside of normal office hours and at weekends. Lodge staff are in a position to get in touch with the appropriate staff, including the Sub-Deans and emergency services to provide assistance. Outside of the period 7.00 am to 6.00 pm from Monday to Friday, the Lodge is primarily concerned with issues of safety and security. Requests for routine maintenance attention should be made within the core working hours of the week. |
