It is recommended that every eligible student applies for the maximum loan as soon as possible if they have not already done so. This applies especially to Freshers. Prudent management is of course essential and if not needed immediately, money can be put in a Building Society or other suitable account and drawn only when required.  Applications should usually be made to your local authority.
