The following sources of financial aid are either funded or administered by the University of Oxford, and all queries about them should be directed to the central university. Oxford Opportunity Bursaries: This scheme should ensure that you have a sufficient funding to cover basic living costs during term, and is means tested. If your residual household income is below around £40,000 you will receive a bursary towards your living costs. More information is available from the University Website. You do not have to complete a separate application form for the bursary. The University will receive the financial assessment of your household income made by your LEA and will use this to assess your entitlement to a bursary. University Hardship Fund: This is a comparatively small fund which issues grants and loans. It is strictly for those who can demonstrate that they are experiencing unforeseeable hardship. Applications must be made to the Committee on Student Hardship by the end of 6th week of Michaelmas and Hilary terms or 2nd week of Trinity Term. Forms are available [here as pdf] or from the marked slot in the area outside the Accounts Office on the ground floor of the Bursary Building; applications are dealt with by the University, but you are advised to speak to the Domestic or Finance Bursar before making an application. Oxford University Society Grants: The Oxford University Society offers a number of small grants for Travel/Expeditions. Details are available here.
