REX WARNER LITERARY PRIZE 2012

Rex Warner was an Honorary Fellow of Wadham College. He wrote novels and poems and was a distinguished translator of classical languages into English. Mrs Frances Warner has given the College money to set up an annual prize in memory of her husband.

The College therefore offers a Rex Warner Prize of £125 to the best entry submitted to the Senior Tutor by Friday 1st week Trinity Term (27 April 2012) of:

    (i) an original short story

or (ii) an original poem or poems

or (iii) a prose or verse translation from any ancient or modern language into English.

Prose submissions should not normally exceed 7,500 words. Entries should be legibly typed or printed.

The Prize is open to Wadham undergraduates and to graduates at Wadham who have not exceeded the end of the 9th term from commencement of graduate study and will be awarded each year in which an entry of sufficient standard is submitted. The winning entry may be published in the Wadham College Gazette.
