Wadham Alumni Society
Founded in 1963, the Wadham Alumni Society is a community made up of all alumni of Wadham College.
Congratulations to recent leavers!
On behalf of the Wadham Alumni Society Committee, our warmest congratulations on making it through a particularly challenging year. We are extremely proud of you and we are pleased to welcome you to the wider Wadham family.
You may have just graduated, but your affiliation with Wadham continues to evolve. You are now an official member of the Wadham Alumni Society, a forum for contacts across generations and subjects. The Society aims to build links between former and current students, and distributes a regular sum of money from the College’s fundraising efforts to enhance the student experience.
As a member of the alumni community, you will receive the annual Gazette, the College’s official record that details Fellowship, current members, the Academic Record, articles and news from alumni.
Wadham also has a variety of sports, subject and special interest groups. College Members usually meet regularly for drinks, dinners, debates, reunions and fundraising events – these will resume as Covid-19 restrictions are eased. Some societies are oriented around careers, such as the Wadham Law Society and the Wadham Medical Society, providing networking opportunities. There are also societies for the Boat Club, Cricket Club and Golf Club and, most recently, our Wadham Entrepreneurs group.
Other benefits include events and gaudies, dining privileges and guest rooms at discounted prices.
Please register your latest contact details and contact preferences online here if you haven’t already done so. This will enable us and the College to notify you of reunions, and keep you up-to-date with other College news, fundraising and events information. Wadham has held several very diverse and successful online events over recent months, which have been well-attended and appreciated by alumni around the world.
With this in mind, Wadham and the SU Committee are planning to organise a Finalists’ Reunion Weekend in 9th Week of Trinity Term 2021 and we are keen to communicate these details as plans firm up.
We are excited to welcome you into the Wadham alumni family and we look forward to keeping in touch.
With all best wishes,
Sachin Patel (Physics, 2001)
President, Wadham Alumni Society

- acts as a forum for contacts across generations and across subjects. The Society's annual dinner, to which members may bring a guest, and the more informal networking events, often attended by current members of the College, encourage the renewal of old associations and the making of new contacts. The Wadham Society is working to develop further networking opportunities.
- Wadham Society encourages links between former and current students and is working to develop these associations. Such links include 'inspiration' sessions in College, at which groups of alumni working in a particular sectors talk informally with current students, sharing their experiences and offering advice and support. The Wadham Society network of alumni also supports the College’s access initiatives to encourage a wider, more diverse, range of applicants to the College and to Oxford more generally.
- The Society distributes a regular sum of money from the College’s fundraising efforts towards projects that enhance the student experience, through the ‘WadSAS Committee’.

AGM Agenda and Minutes
Due to the on-going pandemic, the Wadham Alumni Society Committee has taken the decision to postpone the Society’s AGM in 2020. All current members have, therefore, been co-opted by the Committee to serve for another year, or until such a time as it is possible to hold an AGM. The current plan is that this will take place at the Wadham Alumni Society’s annual dinner in Hall in September 2021.
