Staff members and their families were invited by Wadham Student Union to join what has become an annual ‘thankyou’ from the students, celebrating the hard-working staff.

The rain held off and more than 100 guests enjoyed an excellent lunch prepared by the students. A bouncy castle was organised for the younger children.

An unexpected highlight of the day was an aerial flypast as RAF aircraft taking part in the Queen's birthday celebrations returned to their air bases close to Oxford.

On behalf of the staff, Wadham's Domestic Bursar Frances Lloyd commented: "A huge thank you to the SU for the Staff Appreciation Day. In particular, thanks go to the student hosts on the day.  It was such an enjoyable occasion and highly appreciated by all the staff and their family members."
