Carols by candlelight

Wadham alumni, students, staff and friends gathered in Chapel for two candlelit Christmas services.

Uplifting singing from Wadham Chapel Choir, directed by Katharine Pardee, combined with carols and readings of the nine lessons, provided an inspiring start to the Christmas season.

Led by Wadham Chaplain, Wendy Wale, and accompanied by organist Julian Littlewood, retiring collections from both services raised £1100 to support Oxford's homeless community through The Gatehouse and The Winter Night Shelter.

Readers at the alumni service were: Liz Gresham (Chemistry, 1991); Duncan Enright (Physics, 1982); Noel Kershaw (English, 1955); Emily Warner (Biological Sciences, 2012); Mark Jagasia (English, 1991); Kathryn Feeney (Chemistry, 2007); John Carr (Mathematics, 1969); Ursula Gibbons (Law, 1977); Ken Macdonald QC, Warden.
