News, Student news

Demonstration admissions interviews and student led tours were highlights of Wadham’s September open day, attracting some 800 visitors to the College.

Early bird tours led by an enthusiastic team of student ambassadors kicked off the day at 9am, with tours continuing until 6pm.

In front of audiences of prospective students, parents, guardians and teachers, undergraduate Tom Carter (studying History) underwent an English admissions interview with English Tutors Hannah Bailey and Ankhi Mukherjee while Megan Edwards (studying Chemistry) was interviewed for Medicine by Tutor Monika Gullerova.

Other events during the day were an Admissions Talk and Q&A session with Wadham’s Tutor for Admissions, ‘meet the tutor’ sessions for prospective applicants, and a ‘Writing a UCAS personal statement’ talk from Wadham’s Access and Outreach Officer.

“So many guests complimented us on our unique hospitality, were touched by their warm welcome and the general willingness of staff and students to provide information,” commented Admissions Officer Libby Charlton.

Thanks to all those who visited Wadham and for the students and staff who helped on the day, particularly to our student ambassadors: Evie Atmore, Thomas Carter, Runbei Cheng, Megan Edwards, Dan Gunn, Marie-Ann Harvey, Sam Miller, Maria Minchenko, Son Olszewski, Sully Rahim, Katie Rankin, Louis Torracinta and Jack Wands.

2019 Oxford Open Days take place on Wednesday 3 July, Thursday 4 July and Friday 20 September.
