Justice Eileen Gillese of the Court of Appeal for Ontario (Law,1977) and her husband Robert Badun hosted the Warden Ken Macdonald QC, Development Director Julie Hage and her Deputy Marco Zhang at a gathering of Ontario based alumni in their wonderful garden.

The Warden updated guests with Wadham news including progress of the student accommodation on Iffley Road, Undergraduate Centre and Access Centre buildings, academic results and the College’s expanding outreach programme.

In New York, Fiona Schaeffer (Law, 1993), a partner at Milbank law practice, welcomed alumni to her beautiful Hudson Yards office which offered magnificent views over the Hudson River.

Wadham’s Tutor for Access Peter Thonemann provided a film update directly from Wadham Dining Hall, entertaining guests with anecdotes and updates on how alumni support has enabled the College to become a leader in access provision across Oxford.

Director of Development Julie Hage commented: “It was invigorating to catch up with so many of our North American alumni and we are so very grateful to Eileen and Fiona for making our gatherings possible and looking after us all so well. The opportunity for alumni to connect across generations and professions on these occasions is deeply appreciated by all. We look forward to returning next year for the Oxford North American Reunion in April 2020.”
