Nineties re-union

20th March 2019

News, Alumni news

Students from the nineties returned to Wadham to re-unite with old friends at a celebration Gaudy.

Travelling back to Oxford from as far afield as Switzerland, France, Denmark and the US, the more than 70 alumni who matriculated between 1994 and 1997, included a record number of five alumni couples.

Photographs from the College archives and private collections led to much reminiscing before the event began with a welcome and College update from Warden Ken Macdonald QC and Development Director Julie Hage.

Current student Marie-Ann Harvey (Jurisprudence, 2017) told gathered alumni about Wadham’s Access and Outreach programme and her role as a student ambassador.

A drinks reception in the Ante Chapel, preceded dinner in Hall where the Wadham Grace was expertly delivered by Lucy Hall (Classics, 1996). The evening was rounded-off by an entertaining after-dinner speech by Marc Gawley (Physics, 1996).

Conversations, music and dancing continued in the JCR bar until the early hours. Wadham would like to thank everyone who attended and we look forward to welcoming the next Gaudy cohort (1986-89 matriculation) later in March.
