Said Marco: “The strength of teams in this tournament is incredibly strong and Oxford will definitely be facing some very tough matches.  I am very much looking forward to seeing how we compete against some of the top players in the world.  As non-playing captain, I will be doing this from the sidelines!”

The Oxford team is made up of Daniel Abbas, Magdalen; Jessica Wen, Queen’s; and Filip Mihov, Balliol. Daniel will be representing all of the international players at the opening ceremony in reciting the Players’ Pledge

The tournament is an all-play-all format, and several teams boast multiple Grandmasters. The time control is 25 minutes plus 15 seconds per move.
