Why attend a summer school?

These Summer Schools are designed to give UK pupils a taste of what it’s like to be an undergraduate studying at the University of Oxford.  Pupils will take part in an academic programme, live in College, meet student ambassadors studying at Oxford, and receive information, advice and guidance on applying to university. The Summer Schools are free and we will provide financial support to pupils to cover their travel costs.

The Summer Schools will be run in Oxford and the sessions will be delivered face-to-face where possible.  Government guidance regarding COVID will be followed so some sessions may be delivered remotely.

We’re delighted to be able to run these events in-person allowing participants the best experience of life at the university.  Peter Thonemann, Professor of Ancient History at Wadham, commented: “Face-to-face teaching in tutorials and small groups is the lifeblood of an Oxford education, and after a year of online teaching, we are hugely excited to be able to offer 'in-person' teaching to all our summer school participants this year.”

Further details on the three Summer Schools, and how to apply can be seen below. Please note the application deadline is 31 May 2021.
