Hot off the press, the latest Wadham Gazette brings a summary of news and views from the past academic year.

Edited by Wadham Emeritus Fellow, Bernard O’Donoghue, the 2020 edition includes a supplementary section ‘Writing in the time of COVID’ with contributions from Michael Rosen (English 1965), Michael Donkor (English, 2003), Arwa Mahdawi (English, 2001), Jude Rogers (English, 1996), Barbara Speed (English 2011), Andy Bull (English,2000), Anton Spice (English2000) and Rosamund Pike (English, 1997).

In addition to updates from Wadham academics and staff, Wadham students report on recent sporting achievements, and clubs and societies share their news.

Among the features Fellow and Tutor in Russian, Philip Ross Bullock, reflects on the career of alumna Professor Julie Curtis, and Fellow Andrew Farmery gives his personal account of his involvement in developing a ventilator to meet COVID demand. Emeritus Fellows share family stories to mark the VE Day commemorations and Terry Eagleton delights with his poem Modernist Song.
