Olivia Glaze, Lecturer in Portuguese
Olivia is a DPhil candidate within the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages, specialising in Portuguese literature.
She completed a BA in Spanish and Portuguese at the University of Southampton before gaining an MSt in Modern Languages from the University of Oxford. She was also a visiting student at the Universidade do Porto in 2013-14.
Her research is concerned with female authorship, representations of gendered trauma during the Colonial War, and the body as a disruptive site of memory in post-imperial Portuguese texts.
Olivia teaches Modern Literature, focusing on female authors such as Lidía Jorge.
Alongside her ongoing research, Olivia is the current MCR Women’s Officer at Wadham College and Portuguese Post-Graduate Representative within the MML Faculty.
