Owain Salter Fitz-Gibbon, Lecturer in Maths

  • Owain Salter Fitz-Gibbon

Owain joined Wadham as a Stipendiary Lecturer in Maths in 2021 having completed his Ph.D. in the relativity and gravitation group in the Department of Applied Mathematics and Theoretical Physics, Cambridge.

His research interests are in mathematical general relativity, which lies on the border between pure maths and theoretical physics. Specifically, he studies quasi-normal modes and waves on anti-de Sitter black holes.

Owain enjoys teaching both pure and applied maths, particularly things relating to analysis, geometry, differential equations and physics.

He cares about equality and diversity in maths, particularly LGBT+ things.
