For 2020-21 academic year entry, single accommodation will be offered to the majority of full-time first-year graduates who have met the financial and academic conditions of their University offer and paid the £200 tenancy deposit payment by 31 July 2020.
Graduate accommodation is primarily divided over three sites: Merifield, Lathbury Road, and the Dorothy Wadham Building on Iffley Road. There are also a few rooms on the main College site reserved for graduates with special requirements.
We endeavour to make changes to this webpage as soon as new information is available (e.g. length of contracts; deposit payment amount). If you find the information on this page not up to date or you have queries about Wadham accommodation for graduate students please contact our Graduate Administrator, Heidi Young, or our Accommodation Officer, Jo-Ann Wheble.
Code, contract and charges
Wadham graduate accommodation contracts for Merifield and Lathbury Road run for 9 months from 14:00 on 1 October to 10:00 on 1 July.
Arrival in the last week of September is possible with pro rata rent charged for the days until the 1st of October. Requests for arrival earlier in September by students whose courses or orientations start early will be considered on a case by case basis. Contracts may be extended beyond 1 July in one-week blocks up to 11 months with advance permission from the Accommodation Officer but it may be necessary to change rooms for the extended stay.
Residency agreements for Iffley Road run for 9 months from 14:00 on 29 September to 10:00 on 29 June and cannot be extended in either direction. Students residing in single accommodation at Iffley Road may request to move to Merifield for vacation accommodation on 29 June by contacting the Accommodation Officer.
The College has signed up to the Student Accommodation Code. All students are required to sign a UUK Code of Practice Licence Agreement. All accommodation agreements with the College are subject to a payment of £200 at the beginning of each academic year.
At Merifield, annually reviewed accommodation fees include heating, lighting, water and internet charges. Fees also include a basic level of insurance cover for personal belongings.
In some circumstances residents are able to arrange to stay in their rooms, or move to other rooms at Merifield, beyond contract end dates. This is known as ‘vacation residence’.
Graduate students are welcome to eat in College. Breakfast and lunch are available in the New Refectory on a pay-as-you-go basis (via funds on Bod card). Dinner in Hall or the New Refectory can be arranged by booking online (and is billed to battels).
The McCall MacBain Graduate Centre has a fully equipped kitchen to make your own drinks, snacks and meals, and a common room with tables chairs and sofas.
