Rex Warner Literary Prize
Made possible by the generosity of Mrs Frances Warner, in memory of her husband Rex Warner, an Honorary Fellow of Wadham College.
Conditions: Open to undergraduates, visiting students and graduates [who have not exceeded the end of the 9th term from commencement of graduate study] at Wadham College.
Nature of the Prize: Prize for original short story OR original poem[s] OR prose/verse translation from any ancient or modern language into English; up to £150 for each prize.
Application Procedure: Prose submissions should be no more than 7,500 words. Entries should be legibly typed and printed. Entries should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org by 1st week of Trinity Term.
Senior, Keeley and Eprime Eshag Scholarships
Offering six Senior Scholarships, four Keeley Senior Scholarships and one Eprime Eshag Senior Scholarship each year.
Conditions: Applications are open for students already reading for a postgraduate degree at Wadham or proposing to do so from the following Michaelmas term after the advert is published (in the latter case the award of the scholarship is conditional upon acceptance by the University and by the College). Graduates taking either taught or research courses are eligible (including Bachelor of Civil Law, 2nd Bachelor of Medicine, MPhil, MSc and PGCE students), but the scholarships do not cover undergraduate students in the fourth year of studies (who may be nominated for undergraduate scholarships).
Nature of the Prize: Each scholar will receive £500 and be entitled to one free High Table dinner per week during full term.
Application Procedure: Applicants must provide a brief covering letter, a curriculum vitae, a one-page statement of academic purpose (or a one-page research statement, if relevant) and the name and address of one referee, who should be asked to submit their reference directly. The deadline for applications is normally three weeks before the start of term. This year the deadline is Friday 14th September 2018.
Graduates are awarded £75 for achieving distinction on a one-year programme and £100 for achieving distinction on a two-year programme.
