Wadham admits five or six students per year to the pre-clinical course. These students must do a three-year degree course, the BA in Medical Sciences, before proceeding to their clinical studies. This three-year course includes a pre-clinical qualification (First BM). A further three years are then required to complete the full medical qualification (BM BCh).
We accept up to 15 undergraduates every year to read single honours or joint degrees, and welcome all combinations of languages. We also welcome applications for joint degrees (a modern language with for example History, Philosophy, Classics, or English) and have had a very strong record in recruitment and examination results over the past fifteen years.
We accept about eight students each year for Oriental Studies. Within the course our main emphasis is on Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, Persian and Turkish, but we welcome candidates in other subjects within Oriental Studies as well as in Classics and Oriental Studies and European and Middle Eastern Languages.
Wadham admits about eight students a year to read PPE. Because PPE bridges social studies and the humanities, the College welcomes applicants for PPE with either arts A-Levels, science A-Levels, a mixture of both, or equivalent qualifications.
The College normally admits eight students each year to read for degrees in Physics or Physics & Philosophy. There is no fixed allocation of places between these two courses, and we accept the best candidates, regardless of which course they intend to read.
