What we do

O1 at HoRR

Training

Our expert coaching team is dedicated to ensuring the success of all our crews. We also have a top-quality fleet, with eight VIIIs, two IVs and several smaller boats for sculling in the summer. Our racing schedule extends throughout the year, with the opportunity to compete across the UK - not to mention Oxford's own bumps races, the highlights of Hilary and Trinity term.

Bumps races are a kind of race unique to Oxford and Cambridge, where boats line up and try to catch or "bump" the boat in front. Curious? Give this video a watch (we are the third boat from the front), or come and watch us live - our boathouse is always open!

Community

Rowing is more than a sport, it's a community. You form a close bond with your crew that it's difficult to get anywhere else! Beyond training, we maintain a bustling social calendar with everything from pub crawls to movie nights to formal dinners. Furthermore, our club is backed up by a wonderful alumnus society - WCBCS - and we maintain links with the wider rowing community, such as Remenham Club at Henley Royal Regatta.

We pride ourselves on being inclusive, and welcome people of all walks of life to join our club. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us through any of our social media links below!
