A warm welcome to the Wadham community

We are delighted to announce that Robert Hannigan is to become Wadham's next Warden, taking over from Ken Macdonald QC when he steps down this summer.

We are grateful to alumni who have already supported our annual appeal to help ensure that the best and brightest students, whatever their socioeconomic background, experience the same world-class education that you received. It’s been a financially challenging period for students and the College alike and you can still help make a difference – read more and support our 2021 annual appeal.

Access Officers have delivered a programme of virtual support for our regional schools during the pandemic. The results are reflected in the increasing diversity in the student community at Wadham and across Oxford.

As work has concluded on the William Doo Undergraduate Centre and Dr Lee Shau Kee Buildings we look forward to welcoming our generous donors back for a tour of the elegant new buildings as soon as possible. See our latest photos here and watch an interview with architect Amanda Levete.

Wadham hopes to welcome you back for in-person events soon, so please do sign up for our newsletter to get the latest updates.

Watch our recent Social Mobility Summit with Sir Michael Barber, Sandra Wallace (Chair of the Social Mobility Commission), Dr Sally McGrath (Key Stage 5 Science Coordinator, Biddenham School) and Nik Miller (Chief Executive at the Bridge Group).

Recent news from Wadham:

A substantial social mobility programme to support school and college students from less advantaged socio-economic backgrounds aspiring to study law and join the legal profession is announced by Wadham College and global law firm, Linklaters.

Honorary Fellow, Professor Stuart Russell and two of our medical alumni, Tom Solomon and James Kuht have been awarded honours in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List 2021.

Oxford’s undergraduate admissions report shows that Wadham continues to make progress in attracting an increasingly diverse undergraduate student population.
