Partnership inspires a new project

Wadham works with departments and schools to help young people make informed choices about their futures.
We work with Schools and Outreach partners to achieve our objects in this essential area of our work. Among them is Oxford University's Department of Chemistry, with whom we work on Building Bridges. This programme focuses on supporting STEM teaching in Y5-Y7.
Working together has inspired a new project for a sixth form audience to try and help the transition between A-level and undergraduate chemistry. The Compounds of Interest programme highlights Oxford research that links to content covered in A-level Chemistry, but goes far beyond it.
In the first Compounds of Interest video, Professor Ed Anderson, explores an area of active chemical research, connecting it to A-level Chemistry concepts and demonstrating its wider importance. UK state school A level (or equivalent) Chemistry students and teachers are invited to join Prof. Anderson on Wednesday 7 October 2026, to discuss an A level adaptation of a research paper related to propellanes.
