Our Hackney Fellow in Law presented to the Equality and Non-Discrimination Committee of Parliamentary Assembly at the Council of Europe on preventing and combating vicarious violence as a form of gender-based violence against women.
Professor Shazia Choudhry presented key findings from the Family Justice Project Faculty of Law, University of Oxford to the Equality and Non-Discrimination Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) in Strasburg in October. She contributed evidence and insights to support stronger prevention, protection and accountability measures across jurisdictions.
Professor Choudhry was joined by María Guijarro Ceballos State Secretary for Equality and for the Eradication of Violence against Women, Spain, and Santy Montemayor, Member of the Chamber of Deputies, Camara de Diputados del Congreso de la Unión de Mexico Mexico at this important and timely discussion about the critical issue of addressing all forms of violence against women and girls.
