The Alfons and Josefine Burkard Travel and Research Prize in Persian Studies for 2022 goes to five students

We are delighted that Sophia Meyer (2020), Eloise Stevens (2021), Cerys Griffiths (2020), Rafay Yousuf (2021) and Robert Allan (2021) were awarded the ‘Alfons and Josefine Burkard Travel and Research Prize in Persian Studies’ at the end of 2022.

This prize supports students with their travels and language and cultural studies abroad. Last year, Tajikistan and Iran were just two of the countries that were visited by the successful students to help with their Persian studies.

We are extremely grateful to Andreas Burkard (Oriental Studies, 2007) for his continued generous support to students studying Persian at Wadham.
