Wadham welcomes new Tutor in Classics, Prof Simon Malloch

Prof Simon Malloch, Bowra Fellow, will be joining the College from October 1st.
Professor of Latin Language and Literature, Simon Malloch, joins Wadham, the Faculty of Classics, and the University of Oxford, from the University of Nottingham, where he is currently Professor of Classics..
Born and raised in Western Australia, Simon took his undergraduate degree from the University of Western Australia and his doctorate from St John’s College in the University of Cambridge.
Among Simon’s interests are Roman historiography (especially Tacitus), the history and editing of Latin texts, and the history of scholarship. Publication highlights include scholarly editions of the Annals of Tacitus, book 11, and of the emperor Claudius’s famous speech supporting the admission of Roman Gauls to the senate. Simon is currently working on an edition of the Annals of Tacitus, book 12.
