Warren East awarded Knighthood

Wadham alumnus is appointed Knight Bachelor in New Year Honours List 2025.

Our alumnus, Warren East, CBE FRS FREng FIET FBCS (BSc Engineering Science, 1980) has been appointed a Knight Bachelor in the King's New Year Honours List 2025. The knighthood was awarded for "services to the Economy and to Net Zero." Warren East is the former chief executive officer of Rolls-Royce Holdings. He has also held senior positions at ARM Holdings and Texas Instruments. Previously, Warren was appointed Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2014 New Year Honours, for services to the technology industry.

Among the other recipients listed for knighthood in the 2025 honours list are Gareth Southgate, former England football manager, and Stephen Fry - recognised for his services to mental health awareness and other causes.

Wadham congratulates Sir Warren East on receipt of this honour.

Just last year, Warren East was also awarded an honorary Doctorate from the University of Oxford, and in 2023 he was awarded an honorary fellowship here at Wadham College, where he also serves as Chair of the Development Council.
