Oxford Open Doors 2026

Step through the gates of Wadham College this Open Doors and into a rare survival of Jacobean Oxford on Sunday 13 September.

Built in 1610–13 by master mason William Arnold, Wadham's central buildings are one of the finest examples of Jacobean architecture in the city, remarkably, completed as a single unified building campaign rather than growing piecemeal over centuries, as is the case with so many other Oxford colleges. The Gothic-style Chapel retains its original pulpit and is crowned by a magnificent East window, while the Hall boasts a great hammer-beam roof and Jacobean woodwork on its entrance screen, hung with portraits of the college's founders and distinguished members.

Dining Hall 11:00-16:00

Holywell Music Room 13:00- 16:00.

The Chapel and Holywell Music Room are fully accessible. There is no disabled access to the Hall.
