Wadham is shortlisted for a Green Gown Award

The Green Gowns awards, the leading sustainability awards for higher and further education, are conferred by EAUC - The Environmental Association for Universities and Colleges. We have been shortlisted for our work on heritage decarbonisation at Wadham.

Frances Lloyd, Director of Sustainability, says:
"We are delighted to be recognised as a finalist in the “Digital Futures” category of the Green Gown Awards 2026. Our pioneering partnership with Eyesea Green demonstrates an innovative approach to decarbonising historic buildings, offering a practical solution for institutions across the education sector and beyond without the need for invasive or costly fabric alterations. We are honoured to be acknowledged alongside so many inspiring projects and extend our congratulations to all the finalists."

Frances Lloyd and our Chris Cox have shared our experience of reducing energy consumption through our partnership with Eyesea Green with fellow Oxford colleges and departments. Our Director of Sustainability and Estates Manager will communicate our learnings more widely at the the 2026 Association of University Engineers Conference event, 'Engineering the Future of University Estates', where they will lead a session on 'Distributed Intelligence: Using Granular Data and AI Control to Decarbonise Student Accommodation and University Estates'.
