Summary

MPLS Enterprise and Innovation Fellows meet-up in collaboration with Wadham Research Associates. Marc Moesser, who runs the Oxford Venture Capital Network, will be hosting an informal talk focussed on opportunities for students and early career researchers interested in entrepreneurship/accessing start-up funding.

Wadham’s Research Associates collaborated with the MPLS Enterprise and Innovation Fellows to host a fireside chat with Marc Moesser. Marc is a second-year Creator Fund investor and an Ideas 2 Impact fellow at the Saïd Business School and the co-founder of the Oxford Venture Capital Network, focused on connecting stakeholders of the startup scene in Oxford and beyond.

Wadham MCR and SCR members, along with members of the wider university, had the opportunity to learn from Marc’s first-hand accounts about the various opportunities for students and early career researchers interested in entrepreneurship and how to access start-up funding in the Oxford ecosystem.

The talk was guided by questions from the audience to which Marc very generously and candidly shared his experience. Some of Marc’s insights were:

  • Encouraging the audience to leverage their Oxford network to access other opportunities;
  • Inspiring the audience to consider pathways for translational research with real-world impact;
  • Directing the audience to resources that can support their entrepreneurial journey.

This event was one of a series of events organised by Wadham Research Associates to enhance intellectual exchange and interaction between graduate students and the College's Fellows.
