From the Research Associates

Wadham’s Research Associates help increase intellectual and social exchange between Wadham’s graduate students and the College Faculty.

Missed it?

Having been at Wadham for more than fifty years, Ray has picked up more than a few interesting nuggets about the college, and recalls the time when there used to be a tennis court in the private fellows’ garden. Alas, this is now long gone, along with the cow and vegetable patch that also used to be housed in Wadham.

Ray also pointed out what some less observant members of the college (ahem, me) might have failed to spot: the repeated presence of roses (on the left) and shells (on the right) – mirroring the Wadham crest – around various college buildings. These symbolise the founders of the college: Tudor roses for Nicholas Wadham and shells representing the Catholic pilgrimage of Santiago de Compostela for Dorothy.
