Summary
'Kafka Transformed', a three-day international conference funded by the AHRC project 'Kafka's Transformative Communities' will take place at Wadham College 18-20 September. The conference features over 100 speakers from five continents. Across three strands – 'Transformation'; 'New Voices'; and 'Resonances, Networks and Legacies' – it will explore Kafka studies over the past century, today and in the future. A particular focus will be Kafka's reception in different regions and communities around the world as well as in different artforms and media, which have played a key role in Kafka's ongoing vibrant legacy. The conference will also celebrate the launch of the newly formed Global Kafka Network, which will connect scholars and artists from around the world. The full programme can be accessed here.
The conference features two keynote lectures, by Professor Kata Gellen (Duke University) and Professor Paulo de Medeiros (University of Warwick) as well as a roundtable with our participating artists and a concert, 'Amerika', with Paul Lodge and his band.
