Alumni return for Wadham Alumni Society Dinner and Medical Society Reunion
Date Published: 29.04.2026
Last month we were delighted to welcome 130 former students and their guests back to Wadham for a celebratory meal in hall for this year’s Alumni Society Dinner.
Each decade was well represented, from the 1960s to the 2010s, and we were pleased to welcome those marking anniversary years, including large undergraduate and graduate groups from 2016.
We would particularly like to thank Honorary Fellow Roger Mosey (History & Modern Languages, 1976), who spoke about the future of public service media during an engaging pre-dinner speech, reflecting on where people get their news and the outlets we rely on for truth.
As always, we were delighted to see so many former students back in College for what is a special evening.
We were equally happy the following week to welcome the reunion of the Medical Society, hosted by Emeritus Fellow Stephen Goss.
Held every three years, the Medical Society reunions give alumni and current students an opportunity to meet and reconnect while also participating in a programme of short talks and debates.
Topics this year included the role of AI in medical education, ethics and empathy, strengthening emergency care systems and safeguarding the future of the NHS.
Following a lively afternoon of discussion members moved on to a drinks reception and formal dinner in Hall to continue the conversation.
We would like to extend our warmest thanks to all of our participating speakers: Rohin Athavale (2014), Odhran O’Donoghue (2016), Ian Cox (1983), Dan Mort (2011), Ellen Appleby (2021), Matt Clarke (2019), Tom Solomon (1984), Claire Williams (1995), Mohsin Kahn (2005), Nandan Gautam (1989), Vaughan Lewis (1990).
Thank you to everyone for joining us for a lively spring week of events. We hope to see many of you at Wadham again very soon.
