Alumnus in video game industry awarded CBE

Chris Kingsley (Chemistry, 1985) named in the King's New Year Honours List.

Chris Kingsley, Wadham alumnus and co-founder of independent video game studio, Rebellion received a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) as part of the King's New Year Honours List. Chris was listed alongside brother and fellow Rebellion co-founder, Jason Kingsley. Both were credited for their services to the Creative Industries.

Rebellion does not just operate in the video games industry but also in comics, books, board games, and more. In addition, Chris and Jason are leaders of TIGA, the non-profit trade organisation for independent game developers and other industry stake-holders.

Chris, who serves as CTO of Rebellion, shared on their website: "I am extremely proud to receive an CBE. This award is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Rebellion and TIGA. Rebellion sits at the forefront of the UK industry as its largest independent studio and as an industry we continue to create new and exciting worlds, experiences and adventures, pushing the boundaries of technology. We look forward to an even more exciting future."

Speaking of how they'd celebrate, Jason said he'd, "buy myself a new sword."
