Measuring the impact of conservation action
An IUCN Green Status tool, developed by Wadham’s Molly Grace, has identified conservation metrics for some 181 species, outlined in a Conservation Biology paper published this week.

In 2023, Saïd Business School and Burjeel Holdings launched the annual Oxford Saïd Climate Change Challenge - a global initiative aimed at empowering high school students and teachers to become catalysts for change in the fight against climate change.
The competition, now in its third year, invites students to showcase their innovative solutions and encourages teachers to create impactful lesson plans, fostering environmental awareness and sustainability. The 2025 Oxford Saïd Climate Change Challenge competition received over 1,600 entries from 75 countries.
The finalists presented their climate action solutions and lesson plans in front of a panel of esteemed judges, including Wadham's Director of Sustainability, Frances Lloyd, at the Said Business School's Park End Street campus in Oxford on 26 October.
Congratulations to the winning student team, Boom Bloom Bio, and runner up teams EcoCoil and MycoFuture. Boom Bloom Bio will attend Saïd Business School's Future Climate Innovators Summer School in Oxford in 2026.
Congratulations also to the winning teacher, Zhaoxia Chen, and runners up Christopher Rowley and Roudaina Mosen Kassam. Zhaoxia Chen will attend one of Saïd Business School's Executive Education programmes.
