The Return of Reunions
Date Published: 13.04.2022
Over 200 alumni are welcomed back to College for some of our first post-pandemic reunions.
On 2 April, we hosted alumni who matriculated in 1990-93 as they celebrated some 30 years since their student days. Guests were able to experience our wonderful new back quad buildings for the first time, relaxing in the Undergraduate Centre lounge in the afternoon, including an informal meet and greet with Warden Robert Hannigan, followed by an evening drinks reception in the Access Centre and formal dinner in Hall. Special thanks to Catherine Heath (Classics, 1991) for saying Grace, and to Lisa Fairbank (Modern Languages, 1992) for her engaging after-dinner speech.
From 8 – 10 April, we were delighted to welcome our 2020 Leavers who had completed their studies under the shadow of the pandemic without much or any celebration. Having already had to postpone this event from summer 2021, due to continued Covid restrictions, this was finally their time to reunite and properly celebrate their achievements, with plenty of food and drink, free time to enjoy being back in Oxford, and of course one last bop for old times’ sake! Huge thanks to Dan Gunn (PPE, 2017) and Will Sealy (Modern Languages, 2017) for all their help with programme planning and rallying everyone.
