Alexander Ritter

Biography

Alexander joined Wadham College in 2012. After a Junior Research Fellowship at Trinity College, Cambridge, he was appointed University Lecturer in Geometry at the Mathematical Institute in Oxford.

Alexander's research area in geometry is called Symplectic Topology, a mathematical field connected with physics. Specifically he is interested in Floer theory, Homological Mirror Symmetry and Fukaya categories, a modern area of mathematics which involves a beautiful interplay between algebra, analysis and geometry.

His hobbies include chess, tennis and skiing.
