Luis Fernando Alday
Rouse Ball Professor of Mathematics
Biography
Fernando joined Wadham as the Rouse Ball Professor in 2020.
He grew up in Argentina, where he completed his bachelor. Before moving to Oxford he did his DPhil in Trieste, Italy, and Postdocs at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and at the Institute for Advanced Study in the US. He joined Oxford in 2010, and was a tutorial fellow at Hertford College, before joining Wadham.
His research interests are in String Theory, Supersymmetric Gauge Theories and Conformal Field theories, and the common Mathematical structures among them.
