We welcome students from all over the world.
Wherever you're from, we are committed to ensuring that all students feel part of our academic community.
Visa and Immigration Matters:
The Student Information and Advisory Service (SIAS) provides visa and immigration information to new applicants and to current students.
New students: If you are unsure whether or not you will need a visa to study in the UK then you should consult the SIAS website as early as possible. Applying for a visa can be lengthy so you are advised to familiarise yourself with the process early on, and ensure that your application is made in good time. For more specific queries, get in touch with the University’s Immigration Advisors.
Current students: The Student Information and Advisory Service offers advice throughout your course, so if your immigration status has changed, you require information about your status and your legal obligations, or you have questions about immigration for family members, travel during your stay or staying on to work after your studies, follow this link.
Induction Events for International Students
The University runs an induction programme for new students at the start of each academic year, and dedicated information is available for students arriving in Oxford from overseas.
In College, the Student Union has an International Officer who runs a variety of activities in Freshers’ week to help international students settle in to life in the UK more broadly and life at Wadham more specifically. Further details of these events will be sent to you in your Freshers’ Pack.
International students might also be interested to look at the OU Student Union website; the Union provides welfare, support, representation, and campaigning services to all students at Oxford University and has a useful ‘Help and Advice’ page.
