A wee Wadham Wednesday in Edinburgh

A cosy cohort of alumni gathered in Edinburgh for a local Wadham Wednesday

Thanks to the social gumption of Barbara and Nick Armstrong (Zoology and Physics, 1979, respectively), an intimate Wadham Wednesday was held in Edinburgh on 31 March, in a cosy pub within eye-shot of the city's iconic castle.

It was a lovely opportunity for several alumni (and a few spouses) from the Edinburgh-Glasgow area to get together to reminisce, sharing stories about tutors and fellow students, and a chance to network. About half of the party stayed on after the drinks to continue socialising over a Mexican meal nearby.

William Parry, Individual Giving Manager from Wadham's Alumni Relations and Development Office was delighted to be able to attend. "It is always terrific to meet alumni, especially outside the usual locations of Oxford and London, to hear about ways they'd like to engage with the College, ideas they might have, and for us to update alumni about what's currently happening at Wadham," he said.

We are grateful to Barbara and Nick for organising this gathering. As they hope to organise two a year, going forward, we look forward to more frequent Wadham Wednesdays in this region. Alumni in other areas of the UK who'd like to organise a Wadham Wednesday, please contact us and we can help notify alumni around you and promote it on social media – and ideally join you!
