Entrepreneurs' Network at Founders Factory

Date Published: 11.10.2022

How do you achieve early stage growth in businesses?

At the latest meeting of the Wadham Entrepreneurs Network, an expert panel of Wadham alumni shared their hard-won personal experiences of navigating the early stages of business creation. Henry Lane Fox (Classics, 1993) generously hosted the event at the large, open-plan Founders Factory office in Northcliff House. The topic for the evening: "How to achieve early-stage growth in businesses?"

After a brief welcome from Wadham's Warden, Henry explained the purpose of Founders Factory: to support businesses through provision of funding networks and expertise.

Panellists included both business founders and investors, providing a well-rounded glimpse into the life of early businesses.

The panel included Nick Britton (Physics, 2000), Founder of High Water; Reeva Misra (Experimental Psychology, 2011), Founder & CEO of Walking on Earth; and Alex Hammacher (Medicine, 1999), Head of Strategic Operations at Oxford Science Enterprises. With valuable insight from both business founders and investors, the panel provided a well-rounded glimpse into the life of early businesses, and what it takes to guide a company through those perilous early years.

At the end of the discussion, there was an opportunity for the audience to ask questions, and discussions continued over drinks and nibbles. Nick kindly brought free samples of High Water's Hard Seltzer drinks to encourage the networking!

The Entrepreneurs' Network has big plans for the future, including, but not limited to, further events like these! The Network is open to any Wadham student or alumnus with entrepreneurial interests. To find out more, email barnaby.norman@wadham.ox.ac.uk
