We were pleased that our efforts to reduce our carbon footprint and increase the sustainability of our community were recognised at the University's Green Impact awards.
The awards were announced at the Vice-Chancellor’s Sustainability Awards on Thursday 19 June 2025. Collectively, The University's Green Impact teams delivered 1,600 positive actions this year, reaching over 11,000 staff and students.
Our gold award recognises how Wadham has maintained and improved on existing sustainable initiatives, as well as starting new ones. Among these is a new partnership with Hearty Earth. We are grateful to our students, who donated over 400kg of edible food in our end-of-term collection. Saman from Hearty Earth collected the food stuff, which will be donated to Oxford City Larder. from our Director of Sustainability, Frances Lloyd, and Head of Housekeeping, Helen Wynn. We are the first Oxford college to take part in this initiative.
We look forward to continuing to work with Hearty Earth and to finding new ways to take forward our Sustainability Strategy.
